I watched some of the badgering of Peter Strzok as they tried to turn what was essentially pillow talk into a conspiracy.

Now he shouldn't have use his government issued phone for these communications and on a different level maybe he should have honored his marriage vows, but these two failings do not a conspiracy make.

Its pretty ludicrous to watch these elected representatives try to spin this into something that will either help the dontard or help their party in the mid-terms.

They just couldn't do it.

I'm sure they will try to act like they got something, but they just didn't.

There wasn't anything to be got.

As Mr. Strzok pointed out at one point, the FBI is hardly a den of democratic operatives, it is in general a very conservative organization.

These are law enforcement professionals who deal with issue of national security and terrorism.

They are dedicated professionals but of course they aren't required to drop personal convictions at the door.

They don't conspire as a group to influence politics and apparently unknow to our reps, they are governed by the Hatch act which restrict political activity in your official capacity.

As I said the texts that should have been on private cell phones are simply idle talk between two people in a personal relationship, who viewed an individual candidate negatively, not his party or his voters.

A natural reaction to a sexist, homophobe who exhibits bias towards many and respect for none.

Distractions

You have to admire how professional media people manage to report ludicrous things without breaking down.

I had a long drive last night and listening to the news announcers report with a straight fact that the Attorney General and FBI are going to humor the dontard and the republican congress over things that are simply, well ludicrous is a credit to the professionalism they display.

First the FBI IG is going to investigate whether the FBI inserted a mole into the dontard's campaign when there would have been absolutely no reason to do so.  Everyone actually knows it didn't happen, but we have the clown president who tries to convince his followers he is being victimized by the deep state.

Meanwhile he comes down against workers every chance he gets, since well the owners are the important people, they have donation money.

The FBI is also going to humor the republicans in the house who have been trying to get them to disclose a confidential source.  Now confidential sources don't like to be exposed and they are promised such as part of their agreements.  Being exposed could expose them to significant risk and would make recruiting future CIs more difficult.

They are going to share some classified materials in private to assuage the morons trying to do this, but since the idea is to sling accusations to try to distract the public, doubt it will work.

Sadly the dontard is getting more and more desperate so this sort of thing will continue.

FBI Behavior

The dotard doesn't seem to understand that an organization like the FBI can assign people to multiple investigations.

The people who would have followed the lead about the shooter in Florida were not working on the investigation into Russian election tampering.  most likely they were reviewing other tips and leads about terrorism.

If anything caused them to make a mistake here, and I don't know anything about the investigation for sure, it might have been the racial profiling where a tip about a Muslim shooter would probably have received a lot of attention.

This was a tip about disturbed American high school student who had committed no crime, until he did.

I see NRA trolls, like the dotard, acting as if the kids behavior should have led to some sort of action.

What would that have been?

Would we have arrested him when he had committed no crime, belonged to no terrorist group or shot anyone?

Of course not, we are not going to start incarcerating troubled teenagers, we wouldn't have the space.

What would make sense is making sure people who buy guns are in fact stable.

What would make even more sense would be to make sure assault rifles are difficult to obtain without some extensive background checks, if at all.

Hey I understand some people like to shoot these things, but responsible gun owners shouldn't object to greater background checks based on the potential lethality of the weapon.

We don't let just anyone drive a gigantic truck, you have to get qualified.

They are dangerous.
